Kuoni have announced that they have seen a meteoric 310% year-on-year rise for Costa Rica, sighting British Airways Gatwick service as a reason.
Additionally, Kuoni have seen Canada move a position from 20th to 19th for their best-selling destinations. Kuoni believe that the publicity surrounding the destination’s 150th anniversary of its Confederation and Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau’s “cool not cold” advertisement are the reason for the bump in sales.
Derek Jones, managing director of Kuoni said:
“January and February is always the peak period for holiday sales, so at this point in the year we’re able to see some clear patterns emerging for the year ahead. It’s clear value for money is one of the key drivers for 2017 regardless of how big or small people’s travel budget is.”
The Maldives, Mauritius and Sri Lanka topped the list for the operator.
