Starting July 13th, the low-cost air carrier will start flying from Reykjavik, Iceland to Chicago USA four times a week.
The new lost cost route will be supplemented by the carriers flights already scheduled from Gatwick, Bristol and Edinburugh for UK passengers.
Chicago marks Wow’s 10th US and Canadian destination – after flying to Pittsburgh, Washington, Boston, New York, Toronto, Montreal, San Francisco, Miami and Los Angeles.
The Reykjavik-Chicago flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, the total flight time will be around 11 hours including a stopover in Reykjavik.
On the annoucement, Wow’s chief executive Skuli Mogensen stated:
“This is our fourth new long-haul route announcement in just a few months, bringing our network now up to a total of 32 destinations. As the third largest metropolitan area in the US with a record number of visitors last year, there’s never been a better time to visit Chicago and we’re excited to see the response to our new route.”
